Pauley Perrette is trying to live her best life since retiring from acting, and she appears to be deciding who gets to share it with her:
JSYK! I have WAY MORE than my share of AMAZING friends and family I’m just here on earth studying this #BizarreHumanExperiment and WOW! The entertainment industry is CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY! Love y’all!!!

“The most interesting thing about saying you’re retired is determining who is or isn’t still your friend,” the long-time NCIS fan tweeted. “(CAN’T SHE HELP MY CAREER NOW?!?!?) Fascinating! And EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE!”
Perrette isn’t looking for sympathy, saying she has “WAY MORE than my fair share of AMAZING friends and family.”
Last October, the 52-year-old actress confirmed she was “happily retired”:
I finally and happily retired! And this is what I was looking forward to!!! My rules in life now are “if my #rescuedogs don’t care, it’s cool! I only answer to God and animals and plants now. WOOT!!!

But it was in October 2017 that Perrette abruptly announced her departure from NCIS:
So it is true that I am leaving NCIS…

After 15 years and 354 episodes, her tenure as Abby Sciuto came to an end in May 2018. 13 months later, in June 2019, she explained (again on Twitter) that she left because she was “terrified” of co-star Mark Harmon, who still plays Gibbs and has done so since 2003 (h/t Vanity Fair).
Perrette’s most recent Hollywood project was the CBS comedy series Broke, which was canceled after one season last year.
