Michael Weatherly of NCIS fuels Tony return rumors with a Gibbs clue: ‘NCIS fantasy’

Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony DiNozzo on NCIS, has dropped yet another huge hint that he may reprise his role.

NCIS made its highly anticipated return to CBS in November with Season 19, and it appears that another familiar face may be making a big comeback. Following his emotional exit in Season 13, actor Michael Weatherly may reprise his role as Tony DiNozzo.

Michael sparked these rumors on social media when he tweeted a selfie of his character with the caption, “This guy woke me up this morning.”

“Then I realized it had all been a dream.” “He couldn’t stop talking about Gibbs and his shoulder holster,” he went on.

Along with Tony’s return, Michael hinted that Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) would make a big comeback despite saying goodbye at the start of season 19.

As the series progresses, viewers may see both Gibbs and Tony make unexpected appearances.

Because their departures were both heartbreaking for fans, CBS streamers would be overjoyed to see them do what they do best: solve more serious cr1m1nal cases.

After Ziva David’s d3ath in 2016, Special Agent Tony DiNozzo left the team (Cote De Pablo).

After their intense and banter-filled flirtation, the two became fan favorites and were dubbed ‘Tiva’ by fans.

They developed a complicated relationship throughout the series, and by season seven, they had a major breakup, which was followed by Ziva being kidnapped and presumed dead.

It wasn’t until season 13 that Tony discovered Ziva had given birth to their child, Tali, after she was seemingly k1ll3d by the Mossad.

It was a secret she had kept to avoid complicating their relationship further.

However, following the sh0ck1ng announcement of her d3ath, Tony made the decision to step away from the team and into fatherhood after her assailant was apprehended.

While the team was understanding of his decision, his departure was one of the most heartbreaking for fans.

Michael revealed in a 2016 interview with the Hollywood Reporter that he was ready to move on after 13 years on NCIS.

He admitted to feeling exhausted as one of the lead stars on a hit show with a demanding schedule of 22 episodes per season.

“It really felt like a circle that had gone all the way around,” the actor said, “and I really felt happy with the resolution of the character and my time on the show.”

However, this most recent hint has elicited a strong reaction from fans who are eager to see him return to the procedural drama.

Maria wrote in the comments, “I’d k1ll to have some Tony and Ziva action back on, can we make this a thing again please?”

While Dovey2316 inquired, “Please tell me that it appears you’ll be returning to the show.”

Michael had previously sparked rumors of his return by posting a behind-the-scenes photo of himself in front of a camera with the caption: “NCIS camera is king.”

Because his character was not k1ll3d off, the actor stated that he would be open to doing anything at NCIS.
